To edit the website, click on the "Click to Edit" button.

Small Edit icons  will become active throughout the website on each block.
Also, five tabs will become active in the Toolbar:

1. Block
2. Pages/Menus
3. Appearance
4. Administration
5. Help

Edit Blocks in the Website

Click on the "Edit" icon  to make changes to the contents of individual blocks. Editing a block allows you to change the content and functionality of the block. For example: text, display options, links, access and permissions, and more.

To preview the website, click on the "Click to Preview" button.

Previewing the website will turn off the Edit icons and display the website as a logged in user would view it. Logout fully by clicking on the "Logout" link at the top right of the HotDoodle Toolbar to display the website as viewed by a visitor.

Configure Blocks in the Website

Some blocks have advanced behaviors that affect how the content is displayed. Setting these behaviors is different than editing the contents of the block and uses the  icon to access the setting for these behaviors. These icons are generally suppressed and to see them appear within your website, you must click to add a check mark to the box next to the [Configure Blocks] option under the Edit/Preview buttons.

Headers, Sidebars, and Footers

These sections of your website are special and often have elements that are shared and visible on all pages of the website. To reduce clutter on the page, access to editing Headers, Sidebars, and Footers is mildly restricted.

Click to add a check mark in the box next to the [Edit Header/Side/Footer] option to switch on and off the ability to edit these sections of the website.
If you are done editing the these sections of the website, it is a good idea to click to remove the check mark next to the [Edit Header/Side/Footer] option to eliminate extra Edit icons.
